Features of Health n Wellness
There are five main aspects of personal health: physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and intellectual. In order to be considered "well," it is imperative for none of these areas to be neglected. The Health and Wellness Educators (HAWES) want to inform you, the student, of ways to maximize your personal wellness.
Physical
Physical wellness is the ability to maintain a healthy quality of life that allows us to get through our daily activities without undue fatigue or physical stress.
A person who has good physical health is likely to have bodily functions and processes working at their peak. This is not only due not only to an absence of disease. Regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and adequate rest all contribute to good health.

Emotional
Emotional wellness is the ability to successfully handle life's stresses and adapt to change and difficult times.
Poor emotional health can weaken your body's immune system. This makes you more likely to get colds and other infections during emotionally difficult times. Also, when you are feeling stressed, anxious, or upset, you may not take care of your health as well as you should.

Social
Social wellness refers to the relationships we have and how we interact with others.
Our relationships can offer support during difficult times. Social wellness involves building healthy, nurturing, and supportive relationships as well as fostering a genuine connection with those around you.

Spiritual
Spiritual wellness is being connected to something greater than yourself and having a set of values, principles, morals and beliefs that provide a sense of purpose and meaning to life, then using those principles to guide your actions.
Spiritual wellness involves recognizing our purpose and feeling a sense of meaning and belonging in our lives.” The definition implies that when there is a disconnect between your actions, your values and your inner peace, your spiritual wellness will suffer.

Intellectual
Intellectual wellness means striving toward good mental health, continued intellectual growth, and creativity in life.
Intellectual Health refers to being open to new ideas and experiences, and the desire to increase understanding, improve skills, and continually challenge yourself. Additionally, it connects to maximizing your creative potential.
